Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901
Lexmark has just recently unveiled their All-in-One (AIO) inkjet printer at the Fifth Annual Small Business Summit with the Pinnacle Pro901.
This is probably a follow-up to all the AIO printers that were revealed last year around Fall, but this one is designed for small to medium business and small and home office users. Like most Lexmark printers it has the 4-in-1 capability of print, scan, copy, or fax, but I don’t have any information if it will be wireless. Are we at the point where any printer these days has to be wireless?
The big bragging right of the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901, is the cheap price of ink cartridges. They are only $4.99, and are able to print 500 pages. Lexmark is glad to say that this is “a penny a page”. The cartridges, as well as the SmartSolutions and an industry-leading 5-year warranty, have earned the company the 2010 Hot Tech Demo Award.
The Pro901 has a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen, and it also has several one touch printer apps, available for download from the Web. I have the X7675 Lexmark on my desk at home, and I have used the Interact before, and as fun as the touchscreen is, buttons works just fine.
The Pro901 will be available in April for $299.99.

I am expressed because I work from home and have two networks, so I connect to my PC via USB, wife and kids use wireless to connect there laptop so I plugged Ethernet cable to their wireless router and they can use now to.
also not sure why it asks weather I have a VoIP line, (I do) so I said yes and now it does not stop at 10 pages when faxing but it did before with my old Brother MFC210c, also I am a tech support for a VoIP provider and we get a lot of complaints about the 10 page limit, I always thought it was the ATA issue but now I am not sure.
any one want two working printers?

This is a little cool, the price is great, but I expect comparing to the mid range models it will use ink a lot faster and therefore not as efficient. I would pay a little more and gain more for your money.

Although I am a fan of Lexmark, I do wonder why they continue with the production of the printer. Scanners I can understand, as they continue to have a sustainable future. Where as the traditional printer is not viable and is all too expensive to run and maintain.

I believe that all printers now do need wireless and touch screens which this Lexmark has. Although the cartridges for this printer are affordable (although still relatively expensive) I do wish that printer manufacturers would put more ink in them. Making printing more affordable will make home users print more rather than fearing the cost of printing.

It is really good that printer manufactures are finally getting printing costs down, the problem with lexmark printers is when it comes to refilling your own cartridge that belongs to you what you have paid for with your hard earned cash, along comes the killer chip, no more refilling no matter what you do the printer will not let you print you just have to buy new.
