Rē Accessory turns iPhone into a universal remote

by

Just when you thought that the iPhone is the bee’s knees, enter another accessory that further augments that line of thinking – the Rē Accessory which will transform your iPhone into a universal remote control. Makes us wonder whether the folks at Logitech and all the other companies that roll out super expensive universal remote controls will sit up and take notice of this though, since most people already have an iPhone and to purchase another accessory that offers similar or nearly all the performance of an actual universal remote at the faraction of a price is definitely a no-brainer. You will not need any Wi-Fi to run this, as it is capable of learning IR code from existing remotes while enabling you to customize button images to suit your fancy. To sweeten the deal, the Rē Accessory can definite unlimited rooms with an unlimited number of devices, making us wonder what else the iPhone cannot do.

Infra red for iphones, what a novel idea. it’s a wonder no one thought of it before. Oh, wait, they did. Nearly every upper range phone and PDA came with IR as standard. Stupid part was you didn’t have to “connect” the two devices as you do in some bluetooth situations. Just point and send and the other device could accept or not.

And guess what some of these even had programs you could download and turn them into a remote for anything with IR. My T5 has controlled everything from the TV, [kids kept hiding the normal remote] to airconditioner remotes. then alas some 17yr old told me IR was gone and bluetooth was the way of the future. I’ve had more issues with bluetooth connections/devices than I ever had with IR. But thats probably just me!
