I have a friend that mounts his self contained camera which weighs in at 1oz. onto his remote control airplane and when he lands we just take out the 4gb sd card and pop it in my laptop and see what the birds see. His particular Mini Micro Camera has No Flash memory and must use an sd card, so all we do is plug it in the adapter and we can view up to an hour of video with sound on a single charge. I recommend this type of wireless self contained for any hobbiest. Or, use as a nanny cam, although the battery length is not that long, whereas you could leave it for a day. But, you can record audio just as easily and have a record of a conversation with video for future reference.
