Rechargeable Wine Opener from Sharper Image
Those who are wine connoisseurs and those who just drink wine every so often have one problem in common: the struggle of opening the bottles. Sure, you could use a corkscrew, but I have had instances where the corkscrew gets stuck, or worse, goes down the side of the cork instead of the center. Good luck trying to get the cork out then. Since technology is supposed to make our lives easier, perhaps it was time that someone invented an electrical wine opener. For some reason, I am not surprised that it is Sharper Image to the rescue.
The Recharageable Wine Opener come with a foil cutter that allows the user to press the top of the bottle, and then spin it for a perfect cut off the top. From there, he or she just places the Rechargeable Wine Opener on the cork, pushes the button, and the automated corkscrew drills right in. There is a video after the jump if you want to see it in action.
Best of all, it is completely rechargeable. In fact, the amount of times that you charge it in a month can really be an indicator of if you have an alcohol problem.
For those who need this type of wine-opening action in their life should go over to the Sharper Image website and lay down the $39.99 for it.

Couldn’t get this to work! Tried to open 8 bottles of wine, and only one opened properly. All the other corks were ground up, or the opener got stuck. Not work the money or effort.

Agree with Regina. I have ruined more corks and have had more floaters in my wine due to this invention

FYI: There are a lot of these out there that are $20 and under that work just as well, I think mine is Black and Decker and I got it at Target for $15, it’s great, and everyone wants to use it. I toss it in my backpack and take it to parties all the time. Don’t think spending $60 is going to get you a better gadget, it doesn’t.
