iBike Rider Case for iPhone is space age

The iBiker Rider is not only ideal for bikers, but anyone with an iPhone.

When I saw the iBike Rider case, I didn’t think of a cool iPhone accessory for bikers – even though that’s what it is – I thought what a cool space suit wearable computer accessory this is instead. And when you consider that the iPhone is just that, a computer that happens to make phone calls, it makes one wonder doesn’t it? I can see the commercials now. Walking on the moon? There’s an app for that. Searching for water on Mars? There’s an app for that…

Okay, fantasy time’s over. Let’s look at the cool reality of this accessory. The iBike Rider Case is a wrist-mounted, waterproof case which is pictured with optional headset microphone for your helmet so that bikers can go easy riding and still remain connected to their iPhone. It’s really pretty cool and I can even see one using this in the car. With it’s clear plastic face, users can navigate apps, make phone calls – the works. And using a GPS app like AT&T Navigator, the iBike makes it easy to follow without taking your eyes off the road much.

With the optional helmet mounted headset, handsfree communication is safe and secure.

It’s completely functional. Keeping it attached to your wrist helps keep the phone safe and secure (unless you lay down the bike, that is).

The iBike Rider case is going $42 while the optional helmet-mounted headset will run at $85.

I love the idea, but as one who rides bikes I feel this is a horrible “suggestion”. People in cars have a hard enough time looking out for bike(rs) let alone the concentration that should be had while enjoying 2 wheeled transports.

No one should carry on a conversation while riding let alone divert their attention from the road/balance/cars, etc. to look at something other than the importance of enjoying a safe ride.
Koodos to the inventor, serious worry for anyone that currently or otherwise disrespects the ride. :(

That looks cool & fantastic.

It will enhance the use of iphone & make it more powerful.

It is a cool product for bikers as they can remain in touch while driving also the case provides protection to the iphone.

Thanks for the information.

this iPhone accessory is great. if one would go to somewhere he/she hasn’t been to yet, then this makes navigating around town easier. although i got to ask, is the material on the front of the case a hard plastic or just that soft kind of plastic? because, you know, it should properly protect the device from shock and scratch… a motorist can go anywhere and anything could happen. plus the wrist is quite a risky place to strap on the device.
