I can see if you were taking the photograph in order to show how OUT of level something was, i.e. a building or landscape. Just because your tripod is level doesn’t mean your camera is.

I could you possibly look into the viewfinder to compose image and still look at the cube for level?

I think most tripod these days come with the bubble level indicator by it self.
