Bought the mytouch 3g less than a week ago and am having serious buyer’s remorse. After three days, I just kept it on for the phone function and used my ipod touch for email, web and everthing else. I am seriously disappointed with the camera/video functions (drains the battery like crazy), and will most likely bite the bullet, return it and pay the penalty to get out of the contract. Yes, it looks cool and you can customize it, but the thought of being stuck with it for two years is killing me.

It’s not a bad phone, but for the same money, it just doesn’t come close to the iphone that I’ve had the chance to try out.

Received the my touch3g. But t-mobile in Pensacola,Fl.
does not have the right touch. You cannot watch Flixster (movies), You Tube, or just about any streaming video without the buffering freezing. I thoght at first it was the phone. I took it to a t-mobile Rep. He said Pensacola doesn’t have a tower in this area to support3g. Funny thing. No mention of this when I PLUNKED down $199.00 and renewed my contract for another 2yrs. Maybe T-Mobile has a law-suit wish. There wish just may come true. I was told that a tower was in the making for the past 2yrs. when
I owned the T-Mobile Wing that cost ME $399.00. Anyone having same problem from Pensacola,Fl.???????

Hey all,
former G1 user here in Virginia. I currently have the iPhone 3G on AT&T, but really love the Android concept and although I used to have an active G1 (still have it, just use it on WiFi), I am really thinking about getting the black MyTouch 3G on Wednesday. I think it is an improvement on the G1; I feel also that after nine months, that there should be better hardware in it–it many ways it’s so similar to the G1. Thoughts? Also, how’s the call quality? Reviews so far say not bad.

It does support Exchange already out of the box. That was one of the major complaints people had with the G1. This one supports it. Not sure about Word and Excel though OOB.

Im gonna be honest. I was pretty dissapointed with the g1 until the cupcake upgrade. Now i love my phone except for one big time flaw : the battery life sucks!
They need to fix this. Seriously.
Hopefuly the mytouch’s battery can be compared to the baterry life of a blackberry or better

Word and Excel files (including Office 2007 versions) can be created, viewed and edited using the Documents to Go application.

And you can sync with Exchange/Active Sync using the Touchdown app.

Iphones suck everything about apple sucks. HTC has been making the best phones out there, just about every network has an HTC phone in its lineup, and this lookslike one of the best ones yet

As a customer of 8 yrs. with t-mobile. I Plan to pre-
order the my touch on JULY 8TH. I agree on one thing.
T-Mobile is about 1 tech year behind time. Phones pretty much change yearly, but not that much daily,or monthly. Upgrades on software is a horse of a different color. That is where the tech,s need training as software upgrades come into play for each
particular phone that t-mobile is representing. Regardless of where t-mobile acquires the phones.For quality customer service./”Charley say’s.”

I don’t agree that its a cheap version of the Iphone.. My husband has the G1 and my best friend has the Iphone and I personally like the G1 better You get free auto up dates and with the iphone you have to pay for them. Not only that but all the free apps it way better than the iphone. And I think the mytouch will be a cool phone I am going to order it and my husband and I can compare and see which one we like better..

this looks like a great phone and I would love it except I need access to OFFICE/Excel, and my corporate email…..why not make this available as well.

I agree that the lack of a hrad keyboard will give it problems “replacing” the G1. Im an avid keyboard suporter, i dont think i can go without it. Im still using my HTC Hermes 100. To the guy that said t-mobile is 1 step behind in tech just what are you talking about? None of the phone companies make their own phones, hell half the manufactors that sell them buy them from some 1 else…even apple “i phone” is made by another company…and it runs linux?? so who exactly is leading the tech front of cell phones…as far as i can tell HTC is the only company with affordable cutting adge tech. with only samsung behind them?

My husband has the G1 and I really like it except that it is a bit heavy and very “manly” in apperance. It was my intention to go with the Samsung
Behold when I upgrage in October, but now I am pretty asre that I will go with the mytouch. My only drawbak at this point is the lack of color selection. I was really looking forward to the pale pink on the Behold.
It could be that the Merlot color is a light color but I would imagine it is a deep dark red just like the wine it is named for.

can you imagine being trained for every change and upgrade all the phones and gadgets have on a daily/weekly/monthly basis? it would prob be easier to provide up to date info online to reference prior to making a call…..

The G1 Costumer Service Specialist(s) as well as the specialist that are there to help you with International arrangements need to be re-train or terminated they do not know how to help and for sure they require sensitive training, I am sure that a few lawsuits will force T-Mobile to improve their quality service.

I agree with you guys. I have a G1 and I love it. I am considering preordering this but I love my hard keyboard, and if nothing else is better then i am not sure. I dont care too much for the virtual on my G1 so I am really debating the issue. All I can see is that it looks cooler.

once again, tmobile has come up short. it is like they are a year behind the competition in tech. for they smartphone lines. i am more inclined to wait for the upcoming samsungs to tmobile as i am once again disapointed with the google phones, lack of flash (common in other phones), camera, memory, which all fall below competitors basics. Common Tmobile, you can do better.
