Yoostar Puts the User in the Film
by Mark R in Gaming Gadgets, Toys
According to Gary Sharpiro, president and CEO of CEA, Yoostar is “what CES is all about”. I can only assume that the Yoostar was on display at CES last January, but I must have missed it.
What a shame. The Yoostar looks like a really sweet product that allows an ordinary person to insert themselves into a movie. It comes with a portable green screen, a high resolution webcam, and a microphone to make this special effect.
The Yoostar comes with special software that can remove an actor or actress from a scene and insert the player/user saying whatever he or she wants. The example from the official website shows a scene from Witness, with some guy doing a terrible Harrison Ford impersonation.
The system also includes clips from films like The Godfather, Forrest Gump, The Terminator, Employee of the Month, Psycho, Rocky Balboa, and several others. Once the user has created his or her movie parody, it can be uploaded to his or her Facebook site with just a click of a mouse.
The Yoostar is expected to come out in August for $169.95, and it could easily be the next cool thing if it could do every movie. I can think of several flicks that I would love to put myself in.

Famous movie scenes at the palm of your hand Says:
May 23rd, 2009 at 12:49 am[...] Published by Maria Mihale, on May 23 2009, in the categories: Gadgets Be honest! How many times did you think that you would have done a better job in the so very famous Godfather scene when Al Pacino says the line we all know very well: “I’ll make him an offer he can’t refuse.”? Well, I’m sure you did, especially if you are that certain type of person who always thinks that he would have done a better job if he/she were in somebody else’s shoes. Because some people are too good to be true. Anyway, if you feel like you’ve made a big mistake when you decided to become a carpenter, for example, even if you were a very good entertainer, then you should know that you still have a chance. A chance to make your dream come true, due to a product that was revealed during the 2009 edition of the Consumer Electronics Show. Called Yoostar, this product is considered to be “what CES is all about”. Or at least this is what the president and CEO of CEA thinks. This is an entertainment system that gives you the chance to go from ordinary to extraordinary. It gives the chance to feel the whole action of a movie, to become part of your favorite scene, to catch the essence of the atmosphere. The Yoostar includes a portable green screen, on one hand, and a webcam with high resolution and then a microphone. In addition, there is a special software to come along with the package that is able to remove Al Pacino from the movie and insert the user instead. And guess what? You can improvise as much as you like. Now, you can choose from famous movie scenes that you know from one of the following movies: Employee of the month, Forrest Gump, Psycho, Rocky Balboa, The Godfather and The Terminator. But you might ask if there’s a purpose involved in this story. Well, there is: you can always upload the movie parody to a social networking website and show the world how good you are. The Yoostar is said to become available sometimes in August, this year, for a price of approximately $169.95. (Source: Coolest-Gadgets) [...]
