Diamond Weather Station is covered in Swarvoski Crystals

Having around a weather station isn’t entirely necessary.  After all, you could just hop online to find out the weather forecast for the day.  Making weather stations just another gadget to collect dust.  So looking for a new angle, one company decided to come out with a weather station covered in Swarvoski Crystals.  It does all the usual weather oriented tasks, but makes weather just a touch more shiny.

Just from the photo the design does look a little cheesy, but if you adore all that glitters then you probably appreciate the look.  The weather station can tell you the time or by just waving your hand you can view the indoor/outdoor temperature.  On the side in crystal form it lets you know the forecast for the day.  It does so by showing the symbols instead of spelling it out.  The clock is an atomic clock, so very precise and will automatically update for daylight savings time.  It isn’t out just yet, but once it is it’ll cost you $139.

Oregon Scientific weather station shinier than ever Says:

April 29th, 2009 at 5:20 am

[...] Published by Maria Mihale, on Apr 29 2009, in the categories: Gadgets If someone came to me and told me that his/her latest acquisition consists of a weather station, I would undoubtedly raise my eyebrow, as a sign of “what in earth were you thinking of when doing such thing?”. “Who am I to judge people?” you’d probably say. And you’d be right, I agree. But I can’t see any reason for someone to make a decision like this. And do you know why? Because when we need information about the weather, when we’re desperate about knowing the weather forecast, we have all sorts of other solutions to help us out. For example, we can always go “google” the problem and find the answers we need online. It’s easier and much cheaper. Especially if we’re talking about the Oregon Scientific weather station that comes in a very shiny outfit, all made of Swarovski Crystals. The thing is this device isn’t smarter than others, but it’s encrusted with those precious little stones, which makes it more expensive than its siblings. If you asked me, I could tell you that too much glitter isn’t a proof of good taste, but that’s just me, after all. Called the Diamond Weather Station, the device tells you the time, on one hand, and the indoor/outdoor temperature, whenever you wave your hand. Not to mention the fact that it also displays the forecast for the day on the side. The Oregon Scientific weather station isn’t yet available, but once it will be, it’s expected to be sold for a price of $139. (Source: coolest-gadgets.com) [...]
