Logitec Pocket Wireless Router
by Mark R
The first time that I saw this pocket wireless router from Logitec, I thought my source had misspelled Logitech. From what I see, Logitec is completely different from the company who gave us the G13 Advanced Gaming Keyboard and most recently, a series of laptop coolers.
The access point from an Asian company called Logitec may be the smallest of its type. It measures in at 62mm x 82mm x 19mm, and weighs in at about 55 grams. As you can see, it fits in the palm of your hand.
The gadget is also compliant with the basic encryption standards including WPA2 (AES), WPA (TKIP), and WEP128/64. It looks like you won’t have to worry about people getting on your access point.
So is this the beginning of an era where you don’t have to depend on using some coffee shop or library’s access point when you go to a public place? I certainly hope so, because I’m sort of tired of playing by their rules. If I could just keep an access point in my back pocket, I think that I would be just fine.
Something tells me that it is going to be a little more complicated than that. I’m still looking forward to the day when I can just open up my laptop and have instant access to the net.
