Canon Pixma MX860 all-in-one printer
by Edwin in Office Gadgets
Canon’s well known for its Pixma range, and the latest iteration from them would be the network-ready Office All-In-One Pixma MX860. This model aims to bring the ultimate at an affordable price tag, featuring Canon’s premium print engine, auto duplex scan and copy functions, a high speed Auto Document Feeder (ADF) of up to 35 sheets, and a super G3 fax. Not only that, you are able to live the wireless lifestyle thanks to the inclusion of Wi-Fi connectivity while an Ethernet connection is there just in case you are not ready to upgrade the rest of your infrastructure just yet. We’ll look in to greater detail at all the Canon Pixma MX860 All-in-One printer has to offer right after the jump.
The Canon Pixma MX860 printer can use its qualities of a high speed, auto duplex ADF to batch scan or copy double-sided documents within moments. Thanks to its integrated duplex unit, one is able to automatically print or copy on both sides of paper, while the inclusion of two-way paper feeding allows the printer to be loaded with plain and letterhead paper simultaneously. In order to further increase productivity (something much needed in this time of economic crisis where the unproductive are the first to go), a CIS scanner is thrown into the works to help you obtain scanned images of documents and photos at up to 2,400dpi resolution in a jiffy. Among the scan functions include Push-scan and scan to PDF, making it a snap to create searchable PDFs from text documents for easier future reference.
Print speed it rated at around 41 seconds for 10cm x 15cm borderless photo prints, while default document print speeds stand at 8.4 ipm (mono) and 5.6 ipm (color). The Canon Pixma MX860 will be out in retail stores from March 2009 onwards at £259.00 a pop after taxes.
