Sanyo releases brightest two-lamp projector

When it comes to projectors, you can pretty much sleep easy at night if you have purchased a Sanyo. After all, that company has a pretty good track record with its releases, and this time round we’re treated to what is dubbed the brightest two lamp projector in the industry, also known as the PLC-XF71. This model offers the highest luminance in its class at a whopping 10,000 lumens, bringing high resolution images right into your (living/corporate) room thanks to a three mirror system that boasts improved light uniformity, alongside high reliability with an exclusive Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) system.

In addition to holding the title of the brightest projector in its class (one which we’re sure will be overtaken by another model, not necessarily from the same company, in due time), the PLC-XF71 is able to throw a resolution of 1,024 x 768 against a suitable surface, complete with a contrast rating of 3,000:1 contrast ratio. By using a three-mirror system to achieve uniform light output from two lamps, the PLC-XF71 is able to reduce color irregularities while delivering incredibly high quality 4:3 images. Not only that, you will be able to find the exclusive Durable Inorganic Optical System (DIOS) with optical components that are heat and UV resistant in the PLC-XF71 itself.

Sanyo has also done well to include the PLC-XF71 with its exclusive Active Maintenance Filter (AMF) system that is able to automatically detect airflow and advance clean filter material as and when required, hence reducing maintenance while increasing reliability across time. According to Mark Holt, the Vice President and General Manager for SANYO’s Presentation Technologies Division, “This two-lamp projector is bright enough to use in large auditoriums, staging events or any other venue that requires a projector that can emit a good deal of light. The addition with our AMF technology the PLC-XF71 can reliably meet the demands of our customers in the large event/conference and halls market as well as the digital signage and office-use markets.” Expect the Sanyo PLC-XF71 to ship this month, but do be prepared to fork out a whopping $16,995 for this.
