Yaktrax give your feet traction on ice

by Ally in Miscellaneous Gadgets

Winter is not usually a time when you get the pleasure of looking graceful walking outdoors.  Yes, most people are kind enough to salt their sidewalks, but they can miss spots and not everyone puts out salt.  Which means you’re bound to have a couple moments when you’d like to make a good impression and end up slipping and falling on the ice.  You might also have health reasons that make you concerned about falling, well now there are these to add to your shoes.

Falling on the ice can leave you sore for a couple days, which is obnoxious.  However, if you have a physical ailment, even the thought of slipping on the ice can make you nervous.  These Yaktrax slip on over your shoes and are supposed to help get you some traction on the ice.  Meaning you won’t end up on the flat of your back quite as often.  They claim that Olympic Bobsledding Teams use these, which means that there’s a bit better of a chance that it’ll work.  You can purchase these on Amazon for around $14.25.
