Ovation iDea: A Guitar with built-in MP3 Player
by Mark R
Since Guitar Hero has been turning out an entirely new generation of guitar players, it stands to reason that real guitars would become more technologically advanced to help new guitarists. I suppose this is why guitar-making company Ovation had a brilliant iDea of a guitar that is equipped with a built-in MP3 Player.
The Ovation iDea is the first of its kind, and it is packed with features. It allows the user to play back a song so the guitarist can play along. If the guitarist wants to learn how to play a new song, the iDea will even slow down the playback.
The iDea can also record the user’s playing, and even has a built-in condenser microphone so his or her singing will be recorded too. It also allows repeating or looping of a track for continuous practicing with previously recorded music. Once a singer/player has finished recording, he or she can download them onto the PC via USB.
I’m thinking that the Ovation iDea could help out a new generation of guitarists, sort of like Guitar Hero did. Unlike Guitar Hero, with its fret buttons and singular strummer bar, wannabe guitarists can learn to jam with a real guitar.
So, if you want to become a real guitar shredder, then the Ovation iDea might be your means to that end. I say “might” because the Ovation iDea will cost you about $600.
