A good idea. They don’t look to hot but if helps preserve the lifes of our lads out that there it can only be a good thing.

This is an awesome idea for military vehicles and I am all for anything that would help save a life of a soldier. As for detroit, it could be a while, here is the problem, speed & balance, regular cars travel at higher speeds and any kind of dirt, mud, or snow packed inside the tire would through it out of balance. A tire out of balance is not a good thing.

Airless ties have been around for awhile there called “tweels” But Im not really not sure what makes these any different then the ones made by Michelin

Actually, it seems like I saw these demonstrated on a bicycle or similar human powered vehicle some years back.

Perhaps I can find it on youtube.

Anyway, a great concept none the less. Wonder why it would take 2+ years to put them into production, though. Seems like the military should be able to get them sooner.

What a wonderful idea. This will revolutionize the tire industry and hopefully will reduce the price of tires. I hope this or a prototype will make its way to the mainstream soon.

In the right hands (military) this is a great invention. But if it ever comes state-side you know it’s going to make stopping criminals during high speed chases even more difficult.

Still, if it saves a soldier’s life it’s worth it.
