Motorola drops the Hint QA30

by Edwin in Mobile Phones

Ailing cell phone manufacturer Motorola desperately needs a string of hardware hits before it goes belly up for good, and we’re keeping our fingers crossed that this legendary company who brought up innovative products like the StarTac and RAZR won’t leave the building anytime soon, as we’re sure they have the fight in them to prove all detractors wrong. As such, today we have a new phone from the big M themselves, in the form of the Motorola Hint QA30. This new device is a social-centric one, as this phone offers a myriad of methods for users to keep in touch with their social circles. One glance at it and you’ll think this targets the young and trendy due to the rather eccentric design, featuring a full QWERTY keypad when slid upwards for easier messaging and browsing moments.

The Motorola Hint QA30 is up-to-date in a sense where it offers conversation-like experience of threaded text messaging and instant messaging, and you will also be up to speed with the latest news updates thanks to immediate access to email. In addition, Motorola engineers have been hard at work to improve upon their Achilles heel, a poorly designed user interface that just isn’t intuitive enough to the new user. This time round, the QA30 will come with an intuitive dashboard interface to make the entire user experience much more pleasant, and with high-speed connectivity options and optimized predictive text capabilities, you won’t have any problem staying in touch with family and friends no matter where you are.

You are also privy to various information like weather, stock prices, sports information, maps and directions thanks to pre-loaded, one-touch SMS access. Surfing the Web might not be as seamless or as easy compared to the iPhone experience, but at least you get a decent PC-like experience with rapid scrolling, zooming in and out, utilizing data caching, bookmarks, cookies and history. Other features include a 2.5″ widescreen display, a microSD memory card slot, external music controls, a 2 megapixel camera with video recording capability and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The Motorola Hint QA30 will be out sometime in Q4 this year.
