LED Blow On-Off Candles

by Edwin

Candles are romantic to say the least, and having a few in the room will certainly enhance the mood and ambiance even more. Unfortunately, they can be a fire hazard at times, so here’s a safe substitute from ThinkGeek – the LED Blow On-Off Candles.

The LED Blow On-Off Candles are solid wax (except for some electronics) and feature a natural-looking, flickering light just like normal candles, but they have a couple of extra techno enhanced powers. Regular candles will blow out if you blow on the flame, but these LED candles will also blow on. All you have to do is use the master on/off switch on the bottom, and these candles will turn on and off with just a puff at the “flame”. Even better, each candle has a switch to select either a cool blue flame, or a more realistic yellowish flame. From the proper distance and height, these candles will fool everyone into thinking they are the real thing; they are a fantastic way to put candles where it is too dangerous to have open flames. And, they won’t drip wax all over your mithril armor either.

Interesting – at least we won’t have to worry about the house burning down (barring an electrical short circuit, of course), and there are no fumes to contend with. I’m not too sure what happens when you leave the windows open though – will the breeze turn the candle on and off incessantly? The 4″ candle relies on button-type batteries, while the 6″ candle takes up a trio of AAA batteries. Each set of batteries are able to last for up to 300 hours, and pricing ranges from $11.99 to $14.99.

That’s a pretty cool idea. Do you have a link to the products actual website?

Great and unique product! How long the battery works? is it made in China?

Great idea! I’d like to learn more about these candles. Specifically, how many watts of energy does each one consume? I know LEDs are very efficient but I’m still curious…

Oh these are fantastic. Do they have a scent? Gee if they did they would outsmart the traditional candle.
