Verizon FiOS TV offers “home enterstayment”
by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Home Gadgets
As we all know, times are getting harder by the day with the global economy fast plunging into a downward spiral, although hope of a recovery is there, it won’t arrive until quite some time down the road. For many of us who already have our basic needs fulfilled (three square meals a day, clothing and shelter), we tend to ask for more, and this is where entertainment comes in. With belts being tightened all over the world, it makes perfect sense for the average Joe to find more affordable ways to keep themselves entertained (while distracting their minds away from the cares and concern of the world, albeit temporarily). The Verizon FiOS TV is here to help, offering the option to view movies and TV shows from the comfort of your home, without having to even step foot outside, hence saving on gas, parking, food and other miscellaneous expenses.
Starting from Monday (November 3) onwards, new subscribers who sign up for FiOS TV before the year is over will be able to enjoy three months’ worth of premium entertainment packages that comprise of Cinemax, HBO and FiOS TV’s Movie Package, in addition to over 9,000 free video-on-demand (VOD) titles monthly. When fully calculated, this represents free access to 70 premium channels, where more than half of them (40, to be exact) come in high-definition, including HBO, Cinemax, Showtime, Starz, The Movie Channel, Encore, Sundance Channel and IFC, giving you an excuse to go out and upgrade your standard definition TV at home if you haven’t yet done so already. There are also 1,800 VOD titles to choose from, monthly access to 800 Hollywood blockbusters, HBO award-winning original series, movie premieres and World Championship Boxing.
If you plan to hop on the bandwagon for free premium content, new customers also have the choice to pick up Verizon’s Home Media DVR (digital video recorder) for just $15.99 monthly for the first three months, and will cost another $4 monthly thereafter. With that many channels and movies to choose from, you had best make sure your microwave is in good working condition, while stocking up on popcorn.
