Navigon unveils two new GPS navigation devices
by Edwin in GPS gadgets
Navigon is no stranger when it comes to GPS navigation devices, and this time they have a couple more systems that will find a place in their respective target markets. The two devices in question are the Navigon 5100 max and the Navigon 2090S, and both models are sold exclusively at RadioShack stores and its online shop, RadioShack.com. For those who have yet to pick up a GPS navigation device, rest assured that the basics are included in either device here, accompanied by Navigon’s newest generation of fast and easy to use software, coupled with regular map updates via Navigon FreshMaps.
First, let us take a look at the higher end Navion 5100 max – this model comes with a larger 4.3″ touch screen display which seems to be the norm for top line GPS devices, while free Real-Time Traffic Updates for life basically kills off any chances of you letting your spouse know that the information provided by Navigon was wrong when both of you are running late for an important appointment.
Shared features include Reality View Pro, Lane Assistant Pro, Advanced Text-to-Speech guidance announcing directions and street names, and DirectHelp which offers directions to nearby emergency service providers such as hospitals, pharmacies and road-side help, all accessible at the simple touch of a button. You will be able to receive up to eight regular map updates with Navigon FreshMaps, and these updates alone are worth slightly more than $50 if purchased separately.
As for the Navigon 2090S, this smaller model comes with a standard 3.5″ touch screen display and Fast Destination Entry with latest generation of software, in addition to all the above mentioned features.
If you’re interested in either, the Navigon 2090S and Navigon 5100 max will retail for $199.99 and $299.99, respectively. Isn’t it about time you reward yourself with something nice for the coming Christmas, never mind the economic crunch?
