The DIY Plant Twitter Kit

by Ally in Garden Gadgets, Home Gadgets

Indoor plants are nice, they add a nice touch to any home.  However, if you’re a little forgetful they never live long.  If you’ve been having issues, now might be the time to look into a way to remind you to water your precious plants.  Well Think Geek has a kit to pick up that will help you keep track of when your plants need water.  Of course being from Think Geek they had to create it in true geeky fashion.  With exposed circuit board cut into the shape of a little green leaf.

Once you have the kit all together, connect it to the internet through the built-in ethernet jack.  Then with it placed in your plant it will send you reports as to when your plant needs watered or even if you’ve managed to give it too much water.  Just subscribe to the plant’s twitter feed and you’ll have all the info you need.  To put the kit together you’ll need a soldering iron, solder, needle nose pliers, small snips, masking tape and a flat-head screwdriver.  The kit it will cost you $99.99, so hopefully you only have one plant you want to watch carefully.

For the geek who has a plant but doesn’t really care about it. LOL. Cool invention though.
