The Blender Defender keeps cats off the counters

Cats are truly a pain to teach anything, because they really just don’t care. Then if they know you’re not looking, they are more than happy to take advantage of that. One devious cat owner finally got fed up and decided to do something about his sneaky kitty. What you see in the photo is a strobe light and blender. Both kick on by motion sensor as soon as the cat decides to jump onto the counter. He also has a video camera pointed at the area that records also when kicked on by motion sensor.
Thankfully, not only has he given a tutorial on how to do this product yourself, he also uploaded the hilarious videos to his website. Which means even if you don’t have a cat, you get the joy of laughing at someone else’s cat having a heart attack. The entire project would cost about $214, the most expensive investments being the $120 networking camera and the $50 blender. Everything else would be fairly cheap to purchase.

I’m not sure it’s cruel (the cat can run away after all and it will stop) but I do still feel guilty about running away. As for the cost – many people already have a blender and the camera isn’t strictly necessary – only if you want to share the results with people online.
