Last week’s coolest gadget competition again had a clear (and familiar) winner, SteriPEN UV water purifier, nice to see a truly life saving gadget taking the win, congrats and thanks to Gaj-It for the submission.

The SteriPEN uses ultraviolet light to destroy waterborne microbes from all sources of water, be it from a forest stream or a particularly dodgy-looking overseas hotel tap. To use, simply flip the lid and place the end of the gadget into your glass of water. Switch it on, and wait for the indicator to turn green. Then to complete the disco effect, the funky-looking UV light will glow bright blue meaning it’s killing off a whole heap of invisible nasties.

In second place we have the highly amusing, electronic drum kit shirt.

The Electronic Drum Kit Shirt features actual playable drums and an embedded speaker with volume control, not just a pretty picture. Even better: since there’s 7 drums in the design, each of them make its own sound, so with a bit of talent anyone can carry a tune right on their chest.
