LG DP889 Digital Picture Frame/DVD Player
by Mark R
It seems like every day that I am reporting on some new Digital Picture Frame of some kind, and I usually don’t have anything new to say about them. Most of them have some sort of SD Memory Card for quick picture uploads, or you can link it to your computer via USB to upload image, audio, and video files.
Needless to say, the LG DP889 has all that, but it has something that most Digital Picture Frames don’t: a built-in DVD player. There are many other improvements that LG made to the DP889, as if the company took the idea of a digital picture frame and improved it as much as possible.
For example, the DP889 has a 3-in-1 memory card slot as opposed to the SD. You can also rip photos off of a DVD or CD for browsing.
As for playing DVDs, two people can enjoy watching their favorite flicks without disturbing anyone else with the dual headphone jacks, or can disturb all persons in the room with the built-in speakers.
There is a battery pack that is good for three and a half hours of video playback, so you can almost make it through an extended edition of a Lord of the Rings movie.
You should be able to get the LG DP889 for about $279.95, but I have heard it can be picked up at Circuit City for only $199.99.
