Its always interesting to see the 'arms race' between manufacturers trying to make bigger and bigger SD cards - as the limit's 2 TB we have some way to go yet! Meanwhile poor little MicroSD only has 8 GB max as a capacity so far (I think) - needs to play catch up - small devices need lots of storage space too! The price is a bit high but should come down in the near future as you say.
