JVC offers HP-FXC50 earphones

July 22nd, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets

Victor Company of Japan is first off the blocks to release the industry’s maiden sound-isolating earphone whose driver unit is located in its sound channel (the part that enters an earhole). The earphone will be known as the HP-FXC50, and it will hit Japan early next month. The driver unit of the HP-FXC50 is much longer and thinner, measuring 5.8mm in diameter, compared to the current model, allowing it to be installed in the sound channel. In addition, the distance between the driver unit and a drum membrane has been shortened to reduce both external sound and sound leakage. Thanks to the longer sound channel, the comfort level of the HP-FXC50 has clearly improved according to Victor. You will find features such as a frequency range from 10 to 24000Hz, a response (output sound pressure level) of 103dB/1mW and a maximum permissible input of 150mW. There is no word on pricing, but it should retail somewhere in the neighborhood of $38.
