HP’s “Connects Your World” Lives Up To Its Name
by Mark R
HP unveiled many of their newest products at their 3-day “Connecting Your World” event in Berlin yesterday.
Some of the highlights include a whopping 16 new business and consumer laptop models, including the HP Pavilion DV Series notebooks. This series include the d4, d5, d7, and tx25000 which have webcams, fingerprint readers, HD tuners, and Blu-ray drives. They also come with 3G internet, not unlike a certain phone from Mac.
HP also showed off two Voodoo models, the Omen and the Envy 133. The Envy 133 is pictured here to the above left, and is available in both white or black. Believe it or not, the Envy 133 is actually the thinnest notebook alive, even more thin than that one by Mac.
Another highlight is the HP DreamColor LP2480zx, a 24-inch widescreen monitor with 30-bit imaging and over a billion colors. Also unveiled is the HP Touchsmart line, including the IQ504 and IQ506, which use a complete touch interface, complete with different tiles for different applications. This also resembles a certain mobile phone by Mac that I mentioned earlier.
Okay, I think it’s time I laid off the HP/Mac comparisons, but it’s quite difficult when these two giant companies have their big announcements at the same approximate time.
