2 x 2 Lego Webcam Adds A Touch Of Brick Geekery
June 2nd, 2008 by AndrewD in PC Gadgets
Webcams are becoming an integral part of the online social experience. Users can now have conversations, share video blog entries, and even stream live from anywhere using only a webcam, an internet connection, and a laptop.
Most webcams aren’t exactly ascetically pleasing. They all seem to resemble the HAL computer from Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey a little to closely. Many people feel intimidated from the style of the big-eye webcam. The 2 x 2 Duplo Lego Webcam from Etsy adds a touch of geeky familiarity which is both pleasing to the eye, and perhaps less intimidating to the shy exhibitionist.
The Lego Webcam comes attached to a 50 cm gooseneck cable for easily adjusted perspective, height, and an all-around more efficient webcamming experience. The camera which comes with the cam offers a 640×480 pixel video at 30 frames per second.
Compatible with USB 1.1 and 2.0, the Lego Webcam comes in your choice of 7 colors: pink, red, green, blue, black, yellow, or orange and is available from Etsy for $79. Any lifestreamer or Lego brick architect would be foolish not to grab one of these.
