USB Photo Scanner: A much-needed device

USB Photo Scanner

I’m sure we were not prepared for the digital era of photos. Don’t get me wrong, I think it is great that all of us have cheap digital cameras that allow us to download our greatest pics into our computer, but most of us still have piles of old photos that really need to be made digital. That sounds like more than just a weekend project.

The solution is here with the USB Photo Scanner. This device uses a 5 Megapixel CMOS sensor to scan photos in just minutes. Sure, you could do that on a scanner, but that would take a lot more time as the USB Photo Scanner does it a lot faster.

In fact, it is designed for that purpose, as you put your photos in a tray and then slide it into the converter. Simply touch the button, and you’ll have your memory recorded with up to a 1,800 dpi resolution, 10 bits per color channel, automatic exposure control and color balance.

The USB Photo Scanner connects to your PC or laptop via PC, and you will soon have your memories exactly where they belong: on a digital storage area. Okay, I suppose that can be easily erased, but those glossy photos don’t last forever either.

You can get this product on the Hammacher Schlemmer website for approximately $149.95. And for those who have boxes of photos, I highly suggest that you do.

I used this USB Photo Scanner to get my photos scanned. You may get a few more related information on ScanPhotosToDigital. They can preserve your photos theoretically forever rather than having the originals fade and discolor.

I bought recently one of these USB type scanners but forgot to add 1-2 external hard disks in the shopping basket. Scanned photos eat a great deal of megabytes so take that into account when preparing yourself for making your photos digital.
