Rickshaw GPS Sunglasses: April Fool’s Joke or Real Product?
by Mark R in GPS gadgets
According to a certain source which I cannot verify, many accidents are caused by a driver being distracted by their GPS device. I guess that makes sense, considering where we usually put them. I guess drivers are looking so hard at where they are supposed to be going that they aren’t looking at where they are going.
So why not put what you need on your sunglasses? This is the premise of the Rickshaw GPS sunglasses, which have a tiny video LCD with pure audio feeds. All maps are supplied on MicroSD cards, so you have complete navigation without every having to look at a separate screen.
Personally, I am not certain whether this is a real product at all. This is April Fool’s Day, after all. Not only that, my source for this has a link to the Product Page, and when you go to this link, it cannot seem to find the product. How weird.
Stylistically, this product is a cross between the coolness of the Wayfair sunglasses, with the techno look of something out of Blade Runner. Perhaps it is a little too geeky for some. Well, if they are true, they are available for a one day special for $125.00.
