The Picoz Helicopters seemed to jump start the series of tiny helicopters and planes that we see around these days. The latest is named the Snelflight VTOL which is a Jump Jet RC plane. VTOL means Vertical Take Off and Landing and it allows the plane to take off by just lifting off the ground. The stability of the plane in take off is controlled by a triple axis gyroscope. Power is provided by four pivoting propellers which keep the plane stable and allow it to fly around in a precise manor in full three dimensions.
With the gyroscopes keeping the plane steady at all times, it can be flown by beginners and professionals. The small size of the plane which weighs just 64g means it can be easily and safely flown indoors.
Battery: 3S 140mAh Li Po
Flight Time: Around 6 minutes
Control: Full 3-axis 4-channel Infra-red
IR Control Range: Approx 30ft
Stabilisation: 3-axis auto-zeroing computer gyro

Unfortunately it does have a high price tag at £80, but this would probably drop in the coming months. When it does, I know what I will be ordering! The Snelflight should be in the UK any day now with a US launch of later this year.
