This would be great in my house. I have cell phone dead spots and I would be able to use my portable house phone and not be stuck in one spot on my cell phone.

Not bad, but Uniden has had a system that has done something similar for quite some time (Uniden ELBT 595). The base station has bluetooth which uses the handsfree profile of your cell phone to connect. When the cell phone rings, it connects to the base to make your home phone ring. You can't use your cell to make calls on your home line like this system though.

I have the Uniden system and it's quite handy. As I use Comcast's VOIP service, I connect the base station to the router and only have this one unit to connect. I have 5 "handsets" throughout the rest of the house that connect to that one base station. I can answer or make calls from the land line or cell line from any handset in the house. The link to this Uniden system is here: http://www.uniden.com/elbt/index.html
