LG not giving up HD DVD support

February 19th, 2008 by Edwin in Audio/Video Gadgets, Electronic Gadgets, Home Gadgets

lg-no-give-up.jpgWhile HD DVD is a dead and buried format, LG won’t surrender just yet as they felt it “necessary to provide a player which supports both formats and therefore creates simplicity and convenience for the existing HD DVD consumer.” At least early adopters can heave a sigh of relief, knowing that should their HD DVD player actually break down, there is always LG’s combo players that does Blu-ray as well, allowing one to enjoy either format without worrying about which format film studio magnates prefer to support. Will we see HD DVD loyalists support LG to such an extent for this lifeline where every other home appliance will then be an LG product?
