		<description>To build any gaming system without backward compatibility, especial given the high retail cost of a unit, is just bad business. Sony needs to modify its business plan to embrace user mods and develop expandable platforms if they want to emerge as an industry leader.</description>

		<description>Actually, you&#039;re both right. While it doesn&#039;t possess the hardware that was included with the earlier versions of the PS3, there is some limited backwards compatibility. 

I think Sony would have been better off spending the extra money on the hardware, as the software solution is poor at best.</description>

		<description>Umm the 80gb version never had the hardware in the first place, it did it through software emulation. But I highly doubt Sony will add it to the 40gb otherwise they wouldve did it in the beginning.</description>
