One of the newer abbreviated sayings that have been added to the lexicon of IM speak (i.e. WTF, OMG, ROFL, ad nauseum) has been FTW (alternatively “FTW!”). FTW is the abbreviation of “For The Win” which is in reference to the game show “Hollywood Squares” in which contestants played a giant version of tic-tac-toe with the D-list celebrities of the day. An example would be someone saying “Charles Nelson Riley for the win!”

The people over at ThinkGeek - famous for their WTF and RTFM shirts - have come out with a new one immortalizing this new phrase in t-shirt form.

The FTW t-shirt is black with the text “FTW!” in white. Pretty basic…but pretty awesome. FTW, in fact!

Granted, there could be a plethora of options for what FTW could stand for. Faster Than Whales…Fight That Weinermobile…Figure The Waste…the list goes on and on. But it’s a pretty safe assumption, given the fact that this t-shirt is being sold by a company called ThinkGeek, that there will be no confusion as to what the acronym stands for.
