Flamingo Away

by Edwin

The Flamingo Away is definitely a much different garden decoration compared to the usual gnomes and what not. These speak out their mind in an alternative manner, never mind if you don’t have a pond for the pink flamingo to land on.

The Gnome-Be-Gone’s aren’t just interested in getting rid of gnomes in your garden. They’ll also weed out any flamingos that might be hanging around too. Includes 2 Gnome-Be-Gones and 1 resin pink flamingo. Handmade using recycled components by uber artist Fred Conlon. Fred’s amazingly fun, funky, and always very unique art, has appeared in art galleries, festivals and shows across the country. Measures approximately 24″ long x 16″ wide. Metal will acquire a rust patina finish with outdoor use.

Pretty pricey outdoor decorations to have IMHO. You will need to fork out $124.99 for this.

Solar Powered Necktie charges your gadgets on the sly

by AndrewD

Clothing which integrates solar power isn’t exactly breaking news. It has been done before and it’ll be done again. But frankly, we were yet to have seen such a cool integration of form and function such as with this Solar Powered Necktie.

Designed by researchers at Iowa State University, whom have been working on inventing an effective use of photovoltaic textiles, sort of stumbled across this tie creation as they were figuring out ways to apply thier new founded solar fabrics. The really cool thing about this Solar Tie is that the pattern used for the solar shells sort of looks like a cool pattern that would be used on a tie anyway, so it’s really not too obtrusive into everyday life.

The Nike Burger chomps down on juicy athletics

by AndrewD

Have you ever had a burger that tasted good enough to… walk on? My guess is that even if it did taste like something you wouldn’t mind putting your feet in, the burger’s design doesn’t exactly call for an edible walking solution. But this design, on the other hand, might just be optimal for running track, and then grabbing a quick snack after your exercise just by chewing on your shoe.

The Nike (Burger) Air Max 90, commissioned by Nike for design by Ole Hemmendorff and 7 other creative minds, is a shoe which might prove to be the tastiest footwear ever created. Hemmendorff claims that the shoe is designed with hamburger because the meat is “the most powerful, must durable and most delicious material known to man.” Now that’s a man who loves his beef.

by James

Star Wars geeks will no doubt want this bad boy … it’s an Imperial Tie Fighter Advanced X1 from Star Wars that also acts as a webcam. And although this looks more to be a fan boy accessory rather than a serious video conferencing tool, there are some nifty features that make this not only fun, but worthy of consideration.

Putter Bot Could Revolutionize Robot Sports

by Mark R

We already have Battlebots, where Robots take on each other in something resembling wrestling, so why not have them play other sports, like golf?

Well, this Putter Bot Remote Controlled Golfer is certainly a good start. It may not be a fully automated robot per se, as it needs a human to command it. Let’s face it, the robot is doing most of the work.

Gateway P-7811FX Gaming Laptop is on the cheap now

by Mark R

I used to hate watching Back-to-School themed commercials as a kid. Even when I was in college, it was a bitter reminder that summer was ending, and freedom was about to be superimposed by schooling.

I discovered one deal that makes all back-to-school sales worthwhile. Gateway is offering the P-7811FX for $1399.99 at retailers like Best Buy. The P-7811FX is one of Gateway’s newest gaming notebooks, and it is much cheaper than most gaming notebooks.

Revo Pico RadioStation

by Edwin

Revo of the UK has just unveiled its latest DAB radio tuner, the Pico RadioStation. Not only do you get to benefit from both DAB and FM radio broadcasts, the Pico also comes with the latent capability to stream both Internet and computer content over a LAN connection. What’s most interesting is the compatibility of this device with DAB+ (an improved radio standard with error correction) in addition to support for AAC+ compression. It is relatively safe to assume that the Pico is one of the first few portable tuners in the world possessing such technology despite a diminutive size that stands at 6.6″ tall. Other features include a 12-hour battery life, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity, a 3.5mm headphone jack and RCA line-out, all packed into a splashproof shell. The Revo Pico RadioStation will retail for £170 when it hits the UK this September.
