WL-308 Wireless 300N XR Gigabit Gaming Router

by Edwin

There is a new router in town, and this one caters to the gaming crowd. The WL-308 Wireless 300N XR Gigabit Gaming Router is touted to offer low-latency online gaming, lag-free local network gaming and uninterrupted VoIP use. I’m still rather skeptical of the claims and will believe it only when I’ve used this, but obviously for a company to be this bold in their marketing, there must be some semblance of truth in it (no matter how skewed). Have any of our readers out there tried solutions like this, and do such devices live up to the hype and claims? This Gaming Router is said to be uniquely developed and designed for gamers and hardcore users, merging both innovative design and a supposed ‘evolution’ in networking.

T-Mobile Sidekick, plain and simple

by Edwin

After much speculation on what the latest Sidekick device from T-Mobile will be called, the carrier decided to just name it Sidekick, plain and simple. There won’t be any other code name attached to it, bringing us back to the basics. You will be able to choose to fit one out of two shells that come with each Sidekick purchase – black and metallic green. There will also be a wide range of pre-designed shell patterns and colors for you to pick up at T-Mobile retail stores or online, and I’m pretty sure we won’t have to wait for long until someone with an excess amount of Swarovski crystals and super glue decide to bling up their Sidekick. Granted, other luxury labels might also think of blinging this up with diamonds and precious jewels, but that’s another story for another day. For now, we will look at the features right after the jump.

iPhone Case with Rechargable Battery

by AndrewD

Apple’s iPhone has caused a revolution of the mobile age. The multi-touch screen evolved from the technology of tomorrow to the product of today. While the iPhone isn’t exactly a power hogging device, its battery life is pretty mediocre. Not horrible, but not too impressive either.

If you happen to be one of the millions of iPhone owners who have been caught in a jam, out and about with no battery life left on your Apple device to speak of, than this iPhone Battery Case might seem mighty inviting to your mobile addicted eyes.

Optio E60 one of the cheapest digital cameras?

by Mark R

These days, digital cameras are a dime a dozen. Okay, they aren’t that cheap just yet, but they are a lot less expensive than they were a few years ago.

Pentax announced the release of the Optio E60 digital camera, which could be the cheapest digital camera for a 10.1 Megapixel model with 3x optical zoom lens. Of course, just because it is cheap, doesn’t mean that it is “cheap”. In other words, the Optio E60 has a lot of cool features for something of its price.

Sonic Impact SoundPads are stick-on speakers

by Ally

If you enjoy toying with certain effects to add to the sound of your music you have stored away on your iPod, you might give these speakers a try.  They are SoundPads that stick to any surface, which means the wall, a poster, box, bookshelf, etc.  Each item you attach it to will give a slightly different sound.  It would also make for an easy solution to put music in places that would otherwise be difficult.

World’s Practical (and Safest) Jet Pack Invented

by Mark R

Okay, time for something that everybody wants to read about, the jet pack! Back when I was a kid, I longed for the day when everyone would have one of these. Considering that this is the new millennium, I am really disappointed that someone has not mass-marketed these by now.

I believe that we are well on our way to jet pack proliferation with designer Glenn Martin’s model. It isn’t really a jet pack, per se, because there are no jets involved. Martin uses two gasoline-fueled 200 horsepower fans, which make the jet pack louder than a jet plane.

I suppose the lack of flaming afterburners is why Martin says that his jetpack is the safest. Another reason is that it comes with a built-in parachute, which will hopefully be a standard safety feature for every jetpack.

iSkin Duoband armband for the iPod Nano

by Ally

iSkin has released several different cases to keep iPods of all different sizes well protected.  Well now they have created a sporty armband to keep your Nano safe.  This is quite obviously for the newer Nano, as you can see from the picture.  I always like the armbands for the Nano a bit better than the Touch.  It just seems like the iPod Touch would move around too much and get obnoxious when trying to do any physical activities.

Nokia E71 arrives in the US

by Edwin

The US version of the Nokia E71 is one highly anticipated handset, although it won’t command as strong a following as the recent iPhone 3G release. Still, this business centric cell phone is touted to be the slimmest QWERTY device on the market, measuring a mere 0.39″ in thickness. It is currently available to the general public via a range of consumer electronics, wireless and online retailers, and at the Nokia Flagship Stores in Chicago and New York. More of the E71 can be garnered if you read past the jump.
