The Trapdoor Toaster hopefully burns your toast less

by Ally

I will never quite understand why designers feel the need to ‘redefine’ toasters.  It browns bread people, not really exciting stuff.  Although there are those bizarre ones who actually blacken their toast to a charred crisp and on purpose no less.  Now that is exciting, well not exciting really but it’s at least interesting.  The cool thing with this toaster, is even though it features a completely new design, it’s not just a concept.  This one is actually being sold at place, with stuff.  I know, I was shocked too.

The Voltaic Generator Laptop Bag finally priced

by Ally

It’s always fun waiting for the latest and greatest tech toys to come out. However, it’s just cruel when they post ‘Coming Soon’ or anything along those lines. Then there really is no way to know when it will finally come out. This Voltaic Generator is one that was supposed to be coming for a while now, considering it was announced at CES way back in January. Although the Voltaic bag is just another solar powered bag, it does have one extra that isn’t always featured. The materials used are actually environmentally conscious.

Becker GPS Z100 Crocodile

by Edwin

Don’t worry, this GPS navigation device won’t eat you up if you fail to make the right turn at it’s instructions. The Becker GPS Z100 Crocodile is dubbed so since it comes with an outer casing that resembles a croc’s scales. Features include a 4.3″ widescreen display, maps of 40 countries in Europe thanks to Navteq (that comes in a 2GB SD memory card), an SD memory card slot, support for live traffic information and is powered by the SiRF Star III GPS receiver chip with the SiRF InstantFixII functionality. There is no word on pricing or availability, but this makes it look more of a ladies’ GPS system no thanks to the croc-like case.

CPC WristBand

by Edwin

Talking on your phone while driving without a handsfree kit is a major traffic offence in most countries, and the CPC WristBand is here to solve the problem. This sub-$10 solution comes with a universal case and a wristband that is strapped around your wrist.

Wrap the wristband around the wrist. Insert the flip or candy bar style cell phone into the clear pocket of the CPC WristBand. Now you’re free to communicate hands-free just like Dick Tracy it’s just that simple. The CPC WristBand is the world’s first and only hands-free cellular wristband accessory on the market that allows drivers over the age of 18 talk legally on the cellphone while driving. The Hands-Free cellular Wristband has been approved by Police Departments in the following countries: United States, England, Italy, Switzerland, Hungary, Israel and Japan.

Unfortunately, the millions of original RAZR owners as well as those who rock to its variants (RAZR V3, RAZR V3c, RAZR V3m, RAZR V3i) won’t be able to make their handset fit into the CPC WristBand universal case. The same goes for many PDA phones as well which are too large. Kinda ironic for a “universal” case if you ask me.

Cryptex phone concept

by Edwin

Designer Marc Schömann has certainly done well with this new cell phone concept known as the Cryptex phone. It takes long as all get out if you’re trying to dial a number during a frantic moment, so I would reserve this for casual calls and those who love to do things extreeeeemely slow. After all, you will need to turn each individual section to the correct number before the haptic technology provides a confirmation, so imagine performing an international call. That’s a whole lot of sections to turn, and by the time you’re done, your relief is turned into frustration as you’re redirected to the voice mail instead. Good thing it comes with a vibration function though, but that ought to work well only if it has waterproof capability.

Multi-Color LED Watch to match your mood swings

by AndrewD

Who knows what you might think of as cool tomorrow? The only thing you can really know is what you like today. But our moods change like the wind. The human emotional spectrum is wide and varied. A blue watch from yesterday might seem like a bad idea for today. Our fashion sense can change just as quick as our moods.

The Ohsen Multi-Color LED Watch tries to compensate for those who get bored easily. A button on top of the watch face cycles through a collection of seven colors when pressed. Some days are blue days and some are green. And yet others are pink. This watch from Ohsen offers the whole sha-bang.

Stuck Up: Magnets disguised as chewed gum

by AndrewD

The Stuck Up magnets are chewed gum replicas which you don’t have to worry about fingering by accident. If your hand brushes up against one of these ABC (already been chewed) wads of gum, there’s no need to compulsively wash your hands (as long as you don’t have some OCD disorder).

Chewed gum is the foundation of every public school. Look under any desk in a public area and you’re sure to see an assortment of flavors and brands plastered onto each surface. It’s really gross when you realize you’ve accidentally rubbed up against some stranger’s deposited chewing gum. But the sticking powers of dry gum are incredible. In fact, I sometimes wondered whether schools rely on this incredible adhesive to remain standing for so long.
