NaviSis Makes the PC Screen Work with the Pen

by Mark R

Recently, I obtained some information about a company known as NaviSis, as well as their latest products. All of them are based on Thunderbolt and Lightning technology, which allows tracking of their digital pens “with the use of the difference of velocity between light and sound”.

Considering that the up-and-coming Windows 7 may use a lot of touch-based technology, it might be time to look into ways of interfacing with the computer that do not include the keyboard and mouse. Navisis is surfing the wave of the future with four products that can convert a Laptop into a Tablet-PC like touchscreen.

Bicycle bubble machine causes sidewalks to erode

by Ally

Want to get back at your neighbors a bit, without them knowing you’re doing it?  Check out this little device, it appears to be just a fun little gadget that spits out bubbles as you ride along the sidewalk on your bike.  However, it does much more than that.  Within each bubble is a tiny little flower seed, which sounds fun and pretty.  Yet every single one of those seeds that ends up producing a plant is slowly eating away at the concrete.  Which means every single week your neighbor is going to be outside with weed spray trying to keep them down.

Talking CPR Flashlight Could Save a Life

by Mark R

I learned CPR in high school, but I must confess that I never had the opportunity to use it. So if someone ever collapsed in front of me, I’m not certain whether I would remember the exact CPR steps needed to revive him or her. Considering that administering CPR is a life or death situation, making a mistake could be disastrous.

Fortunately, there is a device that can remind me what to do. The Talking CPR Flashlight has step-by-step instructions for both adults and children, and will tell them to you in a loving, unnaturally calm, female voice. You can even hit the “Pause” button in case you need to hear the crucial information again.

Electronic Trash Becomes Steampunk-Style Animal Art Treasure

by AndrewD

Us geeks seem to be a magnet for accumulating electronic crap. As we keep buying more and more gadgetry, our stockpile of unused electronic equipment becomes higher and higher. And of course, we can’t just throw out the excess. It would be way too much of a waste.

The good news is that if you have a bit of an arts and crafts edge to your geekiness. there are some pretty cool ways to use the old electronic equipment to create new pieces of recycled art. These awesome animal sculptures are all the proof we need to excuse our pack-rat ways.

Big Wave Trampoline: Slippery When Wet

by AndrewD

If underwater pogo-sticking isn’t your style of extreme summer fun, there are plenty of other ways to get your dose of cool water in the summer heat while putting your precious body at risk. Trampolines aren’t the safest of activities even when they aren’t soaked in a layer of fall-inducing water, but add a little bit of slip-and-slide fun, and you have yourself a toy made for the most daring of kids.

The 13′ Big Wave Trampoline mixes the fun of jumping up and down over and over again at unsafe heights with the slippery nature of a puddle of water. The tramp is usable dry as well, but the real fun begins after you whip out the hose and fill the trampoline to its water volume capacity.

Digital Message Tape to send packages in true geeky style

by Ally

Gadgets don’t always have to be overly complex to be cool.  Sometimes they can just be a bit of quirky like this boxing tape.  Personally, I’m about to move in a month and boxing tape that I can write directly on it would be perfect.  After reading through Think Geek, several times, and even sending the link off to a friend.  I only have a guess as to exactly how you use the tape.  Think Geek says they include a marker pen, so one guess is that you run the pen either over the lines you don’t want or over the lines you do want.  Either way, it’s not like it would take much to figure out.  They just don’t come out and say one way or the other on the site itself.

Underwater Pogo Stick

by Edwin

Go jumping on a pogo stick while underwater – at least that’s what this neat little gizmo claims to be able to do. I’m pretty impressed, to say the least.

This is the only pogo stick designed for use in swimming pools that allows you to perform a variety of waterborne stunts as you bounce off walls or bottoms. A rigid ball filled with water fits into the non-slip footrest, providing responsive push-off when compressed against a pools floor with your body weight, enabling you to splash effortlessly in shallower water and bound powerfully through deeper water. The stick is made from heavy-duty ABS plastic with two rubber handlebars for a firm grip. For use with in-ground pools with solid surfaces.

Since summer’s around the corner, why not prepare yourself for a time of fun with friends and family? The Underwater Pogo Stick retails for $59.95.
