Kodak, a household name when it comes to all things photography, has just announced an enhanced Digital Picture Frame portfolio which consists of three different digital photo frames, ranging from 7″ in size to 8″ and 10″ to suit just about every need there is for a casual living room accessory. Not only does Kodak claim that these will look both sleek and stylish, they also boast a range of features including the recently unveiled Quick Touch Border for easier image manipulation and maintenance. All it takes with Quick Touch Border is a slide or touch of the finger at the highlighted sections, as this will not result in a smudged screen which will interfere with photo viewing.

Hand cranked MP3 player means you’ll never be without tunes

by Chris

Cranking MP3 Player

How many times has your MP3 player died on you while you were rocking out far from home? I’m sure it’s happened at least a few times, and depending on your MP3 player, you were probably out of luck until you got home to recharge it. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just turn a hand crank a few times and have it charged again?

Luminous Stylus Handy Strap

by Edwin

I know that most touch-screen based devices come with a stylus of sorts (NDS Lite, PDAs, smartphones), but there is a very good reason why all those devices come with spares – it is all too easy to lose a stylus. The Luminous Stylus Handy Strap hopes to avoid that fate, as it can be attached to your cell phone or PDA as a decorative fixture, doubling up as a stylus as and when you need it. In addition, it glows in the dark, making it easier for you to look for that pesky gadget of yours once the lights are turned off in the cinema. At $5 each, there isn’t much grounds as to why you shouldn’t pick one up just for kicks. Anything that glows in the dark is always fun, so says the inner child in me.

Anti-drowsy Alarm

by Edwin

It is an unspoken and logical rule that one ought not take to the wheel whenever one is sleepy, but somehow or rather most people think that sleep is not a biological function but more a matter of willpower – and they learn this through disastrous results. The Anti-drowsy Alarm aims to help prevent drivers from dozing away, as it has a sensor that can detect whenever your head nods below a preset angle, kicking in a screeching alarm. I wonder how effective this is – someone who nods off only to be rudely awakened by an alarm might actually turn the steering wheel the wrong way out of shock. Well, I guess it can also be applied for other purposes, especially students who love catching a nap right behind the class. The Anti-drowsy Alarm will retail for $10 each.

Desktop Air Purifier

by Edwin

desktop-air-purifier.jpgWorking at the office all day long can be quite a drag, especially when the ventilation in there isn’t much to shout about. How about having the Desktop Air Purifier grace your desk for some much needed fresh air?

Occupying as little desktop surface as a postcard, this compact air purifier from the manufacturer of our Best Air Purifier creates a personal clean air zone in your office, home, or hotel room. Its patented design houses an ionizer and a whisper-quiet 12-volt fan in a 6 1/4″ square brushed aluminum dock that draws air through the turquoise HEPA filter, trapping dust, smoke, pollen, and other impurities without emitting ozone. The purifier covers a 29′ sq. area with a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 20 for dust, 18 for smoke, and 25 for pollen, while requiring 85% less energy than comparable models. Overall, the unit is smaller than a shoebox, allowing you to pack it easily in a briefcase or luggage for travel. The filter lasts up to six months. Plugs into AC.

The Desktop Air Purifier retails for $89.95, so now you can have your own personal green lung space at the office.
