Soft Light concept

by Edwin

soft-light.jpg

Those of us who do our fair bit of reading will know that having light reflect off paper can be quite annoying. The Soft Light concept offers the reader with a luminescence which can be positioned according to the user’s needs. In addition, it can function as both an indoor or outdoor lighting, offering unprecedented flexibility to the user. The slim and flexible body allows a person to adjust its “neck” accordingly for optimal lighting. As for the lamp holder, it functions as a charger that helps juice up the lamp for outdoor use. Anyone wants to see this concept realized?

ENKI Super O2 Watering System

by Edwin

enki.jpgPlants, just like humans, require oxygen in order to survive. While they release oxygen during the day whenever the process of photosynthesis occurs, they do require oxygen when there is no sunlight. Why not give them the very best with the ENKI Super O2 Watering System?

Grow greener, bigger and brighter plants with this unique watering system! The Enki Super O2 water system super-oxygenates water, so your plants produce more flowers and blooms than those watered with regular tap water.

Marketing gimmick or the real deal? At $99.95, it had better work or I want my money back.

Most Soppiest and Geekiest T-Shirts, Ever!

by Al

Proximity Based Geek Lovin’

These have got to be the craziest T-shirts I’ve ever seen (even more zany than the wi-fi detecting shirt), the Proximity Based Geek Lovin’ 8-Bit Dynamic Life Shirt, the hearts on your chest indicate how close you are to your loved one.

Buy one of these glowing shirts for yourself, and gift one to your significant other (boyfriend, girlfriend, husband, fembot 2000…). During your normal activities two and a half pixelated hearts will light up on your shirt. Hey… you’re depressed and in need of a recharge. But get within hugging distance of your significant other wearing the matching shirt and suddenly the hearts on both of your shirts start to light up until you’re fully powered up. Go too far astray from the source of your affections and you’ll drop back down to two and a half hearts again. Got it?

Just in time for Valentines (Think Geek has a marketing department then) you can buy the t-shirts for $24.99 each, show someone you love them.

Internet

No Internet in Egypt, India, and other countries

The Internet is a Series of Tubes – Senator Ted Stevens in 2006 – wiki.

The bad news, is that one of those tubes which is actually undersea, suffered some kind of damage today and caused a few problems: 70% of Egypt didn’t have access to the net, while in India and Gulf Arab, the bandwidth was cut down to less than 50%.

According to AT&T, they already know where the problem is located – somewhere in a cable between France and Egypt.

Garmin nuvifone Merges GPS and Phone In One Package

by Carolyn

3cq408.jpgNowadays, every gadget is trying to be a multi-tasker. Take the iPhone – it’s trying to be a portable computer, a music and video player and a phone (amongst other things). Not to be outdone, Garmin just presented the teeming throng of gadget hounds with the nuvifone, a cellphone that is also a GPS. Here is how nuvifone is being described: “[nuvifone] is the breakthrough product that cell phone and GPS users around the world have been longing for — a single device that does it all” No mention of the fact that there are many other options out there to do that, but I’ll reserve judgment on this device until it gets some use.

The nuvifone doesn’t have many details out yet, but is slated to be released in the 3rd quarter of 2008. Here’s a list of features:

• Google local search
• Garmin Online services – traffic, weather, fuel prices, hotel discounts, etc.
• n vi-like navigation on the road or in pedestrian mode
• Email, text, IM functions
• Camera, video camera, MP3 and MPEG4/AAC Continue reading » Garmin nuvifone Merges GPS and Phone In One Package

JVC rolls out new Everios

by Edwin

jvc-everio.jpgJVC is a name often associated with consumer electronics of all shapes and sizes, and I must say that their line of camcorders have been pretty impressive to date. What does JVC has on offer this time round? For starters, you will be able to choose from the new JVC GZ-HD6 and GZ-HD5 HD camcorders which JVC claims are 45% smaller than their previous high end HD camcorder, the GZ-HD7. Not only does it come in a smaller package (that’s nearly half the original size, I can’t believe it myself!), you won’t find JVC taking the easy way out by sacrificing the image quality found on either new models – to do so would be sacrilegious.

Eye-Fi goes to bed with Nikon

by Edwin

eyefi-nikon.jpgEye-Fi’s claim to fame would be to create the first wireless memory card for digital cameras in the world, and it comes as no surprise that the company has just announced that it will be working with Nikon Corporation to deliver “enhanced integration of the Eye-Fi Card with Nikon’s new D60 digital SLR camera”. Sounds pretty exciting to all you shutterbugs out there, doesn’t it? Anyways, Eye-Fi will also throw in Nikon’s “my Picturetown” online photography community to its Eye-Fi Service as yet another photo sharing option for users – as if there aren’t enough of these available in the market already today.
