WYWH.mobi Gives You Postcards from the Cell Phone

The picture to the left is simply a scan of a postcard that I received in the mail, and there are several things that make this picture special.
The first thing is that it depicts a handsome blogger who visited CES 2008 in Las Vegas, and is holding up a genuine Las Vegas napkin as “proof that I was here”.
The second thing is that the postcard is made from a picture from a cell phone. However, there was no work downloading the picture to a PC, or taking the time to print it out with a caption. All that it took was sending the picture from a cell phone to WYWH.mobi, and then the postcard was printed elsewhere and sent to its destination.

Goldeneye confirmed for XBLA, then put on hold indefinitely

Back when I was younger an awesome move came out that introduced me to James Bond. That movie was Goldeneye, and sadly there hadn’t been a movie featuring 007 in over six years, so I was only vaguely familiar with the character at the time. While the movie was great, the corresponding video game was better. I doubt that there are few people who owned a Nintendo 64 that didn’t lose many nights of sleep trying to attain the coveted 007 Agent mode.
Unfortunately, the game is over a decade old, and my Nintendo 64 has been out of commission for some time. I’ve thought about getting a new one so I can revisit classics such as this, however, it was recently confirmed that the game would be re-released on Xbox Live Arcade. Unfortunately it was also put on hold indefinitely in almost the same breath.

Add a little extra zoom to your camera phone

How many times have you wanted to take a picture with your camera phone, but found that you were too far away to get a decent shot? Honestly, I can’t say that I’ve ever ran into that issue myself. However, if you’re one that loves to take pictures, but doesn’t actually carry a real digital camera then you’ll be pleased to see these telescopic lenses for your phone.

Prices go down for HD DVD players
On the never-ending fight between HD and Blu-Ray, one company decided to cut down the price of the players, and I’m talking about Toshiba.
With that being said, HD DVD players will be 40% or 50% cheaper, which means that the final price can go from the lowest being $150, up to the highest of $400.

iRiver SPINN MP4 Player

After CES, I saw a lot of coverage on iRiver’s new line of products, but I was surprised that there was little on the new SPINN MP4 Player. Perhaps this was due to the SPINN being under a glass cage at the booth. Unfortunately, I do not know if they ever took the player out of its display case at any time during the Expo.
Therefore, I wasn’t able to see the biggest selling point on what iRiver calls its flagship model. I would have liked to see the easy-to-use SPINN System Toggle Wheel, which I was told uses 3-D technology for a truly unique interface.

Netflix offers unlimited streaming movies to customers

Rumors have been flying around that Steve Jobs will announce downloadable movie rentals via iTunes during his keynote speech tomorrow. The rumor pegs the price per download as being $3.99 per movie. That’s pretty close to what you’re going to pay for a new release at your local Blockbuster store. What does this mean for Netflix? It’s obvious that they’re a little worried about it, as they have announced unlimited streaming rentals for customers on their $16.99 a month plan starting today.

Guitar Wizard teaches you to play a real guitar

As you probably already know, I’m a huge fan of Rock Band, as well as the Guitar Hero franchise. I’ve spent more time rocking out on a plastic guitar that I care to talk about. It’s ok though, because I decided to learn how to play a real six-string. My dad always told me that the first step to learning how to play a real guitar was buying one that looked good. I think he was right, because every time I walk into my office it taunts me with its good looks. I long to make it sound as good as it looks. My skills are far from honed, so any extra help is always appreciated. This is why I was stoaked when I heard about Guitar Wizard.

Fog machine and light show coming to Rock Band later this year

You guys might not know this about me, but I’m a huge Rock Band fanatic. I’ve met a lot of the gang at Harmonix and even rocked out in their Star Chamber. Trust me when I say you won’t find a place that’s more fun to hang out than there. Needless to say, my friends and I spend a lot of time rocking out. I’ve bought a mic stand, a drum throne and my own pair of drumsticks, but that’s really the extent of my extra hardware purchases for the game. Since you can’t currently buy standalone instruments, there aren’t a lot of extras to buy (aside from more songs). That’s going to change in the future, as GameStop has let slip a new kit that will add some effects to your show.
