Asus 2MP Webcam is also Business Card Scanner

Man, what I wouldn’t give to be Asus right now. First it was the Eee PC or whatever it’s called, then there was that Dolby USB sound card thing. Yes, Asus is probably having a terrific Christmas party with lots of celebrating.
Part of the celebration would be these new webcams. They are the AF-200 and MF-200, and they have a very interesting feature. Apparently, these webcams are also business card readers.
That’s right, all you need to do is put the business card in front of the webcam, and special included software scans the thing and somehow recognizes it. Hey, do you think there is anything that can get the address and contact information and just put it in Microsoft Outlook?
Well, probably not. Still, it does have the ability to take 8MP images, as well as 2MP video for some nice times. Unfortunately, on one has an auto-focus. I believe that they have some face recognition thing going on as well as 2 Megapixel resolution.
You also got to like that clip, as it looks like it has the ability to mount the camera just about anywhere.
Gosh, I wish I had a price for this thing, as well as when the availability date is! Let me know when it is, Asus.

as you said, would be great to have OCR software to grab that puppy and dump right into your contact management software.
