The one I'm using has the phone # "built in", uses an upgraded network (not Internet to Internet, but phone to phone), is portable anywhere in the world (just plug into high-speed Internet), and costs less than most cell phones ($99 in Canada). Plus, it costs me about $35/month with full phone features, including no-cost long distance to US and Canada. I'm soon to be a grandpa, and my daughter and I both have these so we can see each other, and I can watch my grandchild grow. p.s. A "boffin" is an expert who has fun while helping people.
