Sega and NeuroSky Create Thought Control Games
by Mark R in Gaming Gadgets
It’s been a while since we have heard from Sega. Remember back when the Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog rocked out world? Well, Sega is up to its old tricks with something new: video games that use the power of the mind.
The once video games giant has teamed up with NeuroSky in order to make “mind controlled tech toys”. Oh gosh, does that mean that our video games are finally going to control our minds? I mean, in some cases, they already do.
Actually, it uses biosensor technology which uses “dry active sensors” that cling to your head like a headset. It can somehow scan your brainwaves and do…something.
Yeah, I don’t have much details, and have no idea what kinds of games this would play if it ever got out into the market. Of course, there is no word when this will get out, if ever.
All right, I’m going to say it. Do we really need games that go into our mind? Isn’t the whole point to exercise eyehand coordination and use your hands. How will these mindgames work? Does it mean that the smartest ones will succeed? How am I supposed to move Mario now? Squint really hard? It might be better than shaking that stupid Wiimote stick.

Um.. as you said in the middle of your article the controller only reads your brain waves, it doesn’t go into your mind…

this technology has a serious future and will be appreciated by all, i dont see how you can write an article about this with some tone of negativity
if you dont get this technology you better learn how to play pinnocle in a retirement home, or in your sake sonic the hedgehog
