Dell to sell computers at Best Buy stores
Dell will be adding a new way to market its computers by teaming up with Best Buy, making available a wide range of its award-winning XPS and Inspiron notebook and desktop computers, including the recently released XPS One. These new computers will be made available at over 900 Best Buy locations in the US over the next few weeks. Guess Dell has finally realized that there are people who love to touch, feel and see their computers before making a purchase instead of just clicking on some radio buttons and several “Next” buttons, enter their credit card number, and wait for the deliveryman to drop the computer at your doorstep a short while later.
Another advantage of buying systems direct from Dell or in retail stores would mean customers are able to purchase what they need when and where they want. According to Michael Tatelman, vice president of sales and marketing for Dell’s global consumer business, “Seeing the latest fashion colors of our Inspiron and XPS notebooks or previewing the ultimate gaming experience on a high-performance system can be an important part of how people shop. In the next few weeks, people looking to upgrade to a Dell notebook or desktop in the U.S. can visit their local Best Buy to check out and purchase our award-winning line of products.”
Some of the products up for sale include the award-winning Dell XPS M1330 in white, the Inspiron 1521 in blue and black, and the Inspiron 1420 in black. As for the Dell XPS One desktop, that will arrive soon. In addition, consumers will be able to check out the lower end Dell Inspiron 530, 531, and 531s, with more models and colors to come in the coming months. Guess there is a computer for everyone, no matter what their budget is.
