IOGEAR has new SATA and eSATA gear

IOGEAR has a bunch of new SATA and eSATA products that include PCI and PCI-Express card adapters, enclosures and cables - giving consumers a faster, cost-effective option for increasing their disk drive speeds. No doubt about it, there is a sharp rise in use of digital media these days, and hence consumers need to stay ahead of the technological curve by purchasing faster and more efficient devices where data/file transfer from one computer to another is concerned. IOGEAR aims to please with its new product line that is capable of facilitating data transfers at speeds up to 3 Gbps - that is a whopping half a dozen times quicker than USB 2.0.
The SATA PCI and PCI-Express solutions on offer also add RAID (redundant array of independent disks) capabilities to existing laptops and desktops, enabling data back-up and transfer performance increases unavailable with other connections. IOGEAR’s new enclosure converts internal SATA hard disk drives into durable external USB 2.0 or eSATA drives that can take full advantage of the robust SATA feature set.
According to Miranda Su, vice president of sales and marketing at IOGEAR, “As consumers increasingly use technology in their professional and personal lives, they need to be able to instantly access and store all of their information, such as digital photos, movies and music. Our new SATA and eSATA products provide a convenient method to support storage by facilitating file transfers to external hard disk and optical drives at record-breaking speeds.”
The new IOGEAR eSATA family comprises of the RAID5 eSATA 3 Gbps External 2-port PCI-Express Card (GICe702S3R5W6) that has a recommended retail price of $46.99. It is not only compatible with the PCI-Express interface, it also adds a couple of second-generation eSATA ports to desktop computers. As for IOGEAR’s SATA family, you get the eSATA 1.5 Gbps 1Internal + 1External Low-Profile PCI Card (GIC711SW6) which retails for $37.99, the eSATA 3 Gbps
1-Internal and 1-External Port Low-Profile PCI Express Host Card that costs $46.99 while the SATA 3 Gbps Internal 2 Port Low-Profile PCI-Express Card (GICe720S3W6) will hit your pockets for $46.99.
