EPOS Digital Pen and USB Drive

EPOS

Personally, I think it is good when an electronic product arrives later rather than sooner. I think we all know the stories of products that were rushed to the stores before the bugs were all cleared and the results that followed.

This is the point that I would praise EPOS on for delaying their Digital Pen and USB Drive. Yes, EPOS chose a cautionary approach for their latest products, which were due to come out in April and are still in testing mode before their release.

The pen and USB work together, so that everything that is written is converted into text that you can edit. Writing with the pen is easy, and it is possible to use the pen on a notebook or a stylus tip on something else. Then, once it is time to upload, just plug the USB Drive into your port for some editable text action.

Unfortunately, the only people who seem to be able to get their hands on this fine product are just fingering the prototypes, which I’m told work quite well. It may take a while before it hits the store. Unfortunately, I do not have any word about pricing, but there is a rumor that there will be an announcement at CES come January.

It will be interesting to see how this technology actually works as oppossed to the tried and true Anoto dot pattern system.
