Star Wars Mimobot Series 2 Flash Drive

November 28th, 2007 by Mark R in USB Gadgets

mimobots series 2

I am guessing that the word “mimobot” is not in the dictionary, but it appears to apply to a special type of USB flash drive that is shaped like a cute anime character. I believe the origin of the word mimobot can be attributed to a company called Mimoco, which has made several of these.

I suppose it stands to reason that someone would try to make mimobots based on the greatest space fantasy of all. The Star Wars Series 1 made its debut a few months ago with adorable little versions of Darth Vader, R2-D2, Chewbacca, and a Stormtrooper, but Series 2 includes Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Boba Fett.

I believe these are limited editions, and if Series 2 is anything like Series 1, there will be exclusive content like wallpapers, desktop icons, and even original trailers.

One thing that is different, is that the faces seem to change when you take their heads off. As you can see above, Luke goes from goggled to smiling pretty boy when you plug him in. Speaking of faces, I’m not certain I like the expressions on Leia and Han’s faces.

As for the price, they are $50 for 1 GB, $70 for 2GB, and $100 for 4GB.
