Motorcycle Engine USB Hub: Born To Be Wild
by Carolyn in PC Gadgets, USB Gadgets
You have all heard the classic “Born To Be Wild” by Steppenwolf. (”Get your motor running…head out on the highway…”) The motorcycle culture is not just limited to those leather clad bad boys of the open road. There are a lot of IT guys who are weekend warriors going on their own “Wild Hogs” adventures.
Over at ThinkGeek, they’re selling the Motorcycle Engine USB Hub. “It’s a USB hub in the shape of a motorcycle engine - big deal!” you say. Oh wait. It’s much more than just any plain old USB hub. The description from ThinkGeek:
The Motorcycle Engine USB Hub roars to life as soon as you plug it in. The motor moves and idles for a few moments before calming down. You can plug in up to 3 USB 2.0 devices, but it is the starter pedal and gear shift that make this hub so much fun. You can bring the engine to life at any time by revving it. Shift gears to elicit a different sound. Each rev will let your whole office know that you mean business; each idle will make their USB hubs quake with fear.
It revs up and idles and makes different engine sounds depending on which gear you are in?! This may be one of the most interesting USB hubs I’ve seen. This 3 port USB 2.0 hub is 4.5″ x 4.7″ x 3.5″ and comes with starter pedal and gear shift moving parts with appropriate sound and motion all for 39.99.
The only thing you’ll have to worry about is starting up your own chapter of the Hell’s Angels: USB Chapter. Real motorcycle and do-rag not included.
