Tovolo STANDZ Keeps Your Countertop Bright

November 21st, 2007 by Carolyn in Cooking Gadgets, Kitchen Gadgets

I’m a huge fan of kitchen gadgets. You can usually find me with the television tuned to Good Eats with the notepad at the ready so I can look up and buy all the nifty kitchen gadgets that Alton Brown gloriously displays during the course of the show.

2052239631_09960435e8.jpgImagine my delight when I stumbled upon some fabulous kitchen gadgets of my own. The Tovolo Standz tools are the latest cool line of kitchen gadgets to hit the market. From Amazon.com:

The creative folks at Tovolo have come up with the latest way to make food prep fun-kitchen utensils that stand upright. Each Standz tool features an ergonomic, soft-grip handle with a flat base measuring 1-1/2 inches in diameter, allowing it to stay upright on the countertop for several reasons: to eliminate germ transference between counter and tool, to keep drips and food particles off the counter, and to provide for quick grabbing. A cheerful complement to the handsome graphite-gray handle, the head of each tool is made of translucent polycarbonate in a bright color range, making the tool easy to find should it end up in a cluttered drawer.

How much fun would these be lined up all along your countertop? Also, buying a whole set of the twenty-two different gadgets would only set you back around $5-$7 for each piece. Granted some of the twenty-two are duplicates - like the silicone spatula, which comes in green and pink - so you wouldn’t have to shell out for all 22 items. Looks like a perfect stocking stuffer to me!

Pick them up over at Amazon.com while supplies last.

These are neat looking but, I question the durability especially the “tong” connecting the polycarbonate tool head to the handle.
